Does anyone know of a good route from Charlottesville to Richmond?
Bike Route 76 seems needlessly long and I’ve been told that Route 6 is too busy. Has anyone done either of these before?

My daughter is about to start UVA and I would like to ride down to visit her from Arlington, VA a few times in the fall and spring. I would greatly appreciate any route suggestions. I would like a route that is as direct, safe, fast, scenic and as free as possible from vehicular traffic. I realize any real route will be a compromise on these route attributes.

I heard some very sad news today. A local rider and a friend of mine, George Shoffner, lost his fight with cancer. If you knew George you know what a great guy he was. He will be missed.

In an effort to get a B ride established before the race season begins and people start traveling on the weekends, I’d like to hear your thoughts on when the B ride should be and what you expect to get out of it.

The Saturday ride leaves from the shop at 10:00 AM. Wunderground says it should be about 29 degrees at the start of the ride but it should warm up to the high 30’s by the time the ride is over. It may even crack 40 degrees while you are refueling.
