ID3 – Independence Day Three Race Weekend – Roanoke & Blacksburg, Virginia
Wooden Bridges TT practice ride series starts Wednesday May 28th
Hey everyone,
The Wooden Bridges Time Trial (or “TT”) practice ride series resumes Wednesday May 28th at 6pm. This highly popular ride gives you a chance to break out your aero bars and wheels and get your fast on. Riders will be timed with the finest Timex Ironman watch technology $30 can buy! Ride is open to everyone.
Tips about TT riding and gear available before and after the ride. I will try and round up some extra TT for you to try as well.
As this is a monthly series this is a good way to benchmark yourself throughout the summer.
As this is a TT series, this is the perfect B or even C level ride. You are riding against the clock, not other riders.
Fancy gear isn’t needed. Just a bike and a helmet.
But if you have it, bring it.
Triathletes, bring your running shoes and run afterwards if you want. Let me know if you have any questions/tips/suggestions. Props to Tre for running this series the first two years!!
DIRECTIONS: Take Garth Rd (614) North West of
C’Ville for about 10 miles to White Hall. Turn left onto
Sugar Hollow Res. Rd (614) and park at Olivet Baptist
Church, which is about .5 miles down Sugar Hollow.
Check in there.
COURSE UNPROTECTED, NOT CLOSED, and YOU WILL ENCOUNTER TRAFFIC! !
So don’t get crazy. There are three wooden bridges- dont try railing them in the aero bars unless you like splinters.
COURSE DESCRIPTION: From Olivet Bapt. Ch., ride
NW down Sugar Hollow Rd, turn around at the orange cone
prior to the dam, then come back to Olivet Bapt. Ch.
Finish there. 8.45 flat miles.
Thanks,
Eric Fletcher
