VITCORY for Cville
Submitted by Rodland.Kyle on Wed, 10/29/2008 - 13:41.Yesterday’s weather made for some true cross racing. Windy with snow flurries is how it’s supposed to be, well… there should be some mud too. But we’ll work on that next time.
The West Side didn’t pull out the numbers needed to topple the Foof, but a good time was had by all who tried, despite some full-contact attempts at victory by the Cutters.
The final points are Foof Town 526, West Side 422. The trophy will stay in C’ville for the season.
CROSS you NEED to know about.

12 People, 4 Races, 1 Hot Tub
Submitted by Rodland.Kyle on Tue, 07/22/2008 - 11:54.we had 12 people sleeping in a 4 bedroom house for MTB Nationals. (Nice). one of the rooms was filled with bikes, tools, repair stands, Stans sealant spilling all over the place.
i went in the the race with no expectations, and keeping my chin up high. it was a 5 mile lap with about 3 miles of climbing, WIDE open climbing. mostly grass climbs and dirt road, with a small bit of tech climbing. the decent was awesome, pretty technical, steep and a lot of room for hurting. MTN Clinic
Submitted by Rodland.Kyle on Thu, 06/26/2008 - 23:42.i’ll be leading a skills clinic on hopping, rolling, and just plain getting over logs. we will explore some techniques for getting over logs at speed. If you are already proficient at clearing logs come on out and share your ideas with others. Otherwise, come out and learn/practice some J-hops, Bunny hops, or James’ personal favorite the “Tap-Tap”. Most of the logs will be anywhere from 3” to 12” in diameter. You only have to ride what you feel comfortable.
This one is for the more adventurous intermediate rider (MORE)—>
get Urban
Submitted by Rodland.Kyle on Tue, 06/17/2008 - 13:40.i didn;t even know about the Xtera Urban Assault race in Richmond this past weekend, until two days before. it sounded like fun so i pre reged ($40, WTF!). all outrageous entry fees aside, i rode down with some friends, met up with the Tevendale crew, and finally found the reg table. a super long walking bridge over the James brought us to the correct island, which was a blast to cross (in a dorky way). Dem Bones
Submitted by Rodland.Kyle on Wed, 04/02/2008 - 10:09.So….Blue Ridge School. Last year was awesome, this year was still awesome. remember when you grandfather said he had to walk the school, uphill, BOTH ways? well…that was this race. i’m not quite sure how they did it but, about 70% of the race was climbing (which is kinda what i’m into).
