We had a great Thanksgiving morning ride, with 23 riders and one dog joining together for a good time. The chilly foggy morning cleared up almost immediately as Dave T led the group out.
There were all abilities present, with a few kids under 10, including my son Nick and the Ramsey’s son Jasper, and many grown ups acting like kids.

For a number of years, CRC held a really fun Thanksgiving Day mtb ride at Panorama Farm. After Panorama closed, the ride kind of fizzled out.

I’ve got a complete 2008 Shimano Ultegra SL (the new, lighter version that is pewter color) drivetrain that I swapped off a new bike, which contains the following:

• 172.5mm Ultegra SL crankset – compact 50/34 chainrings (BB not included)
• Ultegra SL rear derailleur
• Ultegra SL front derailleur 35.0 clamp

• Ultegra SL 10sp shifters- these have the Dura Ace internals for super accurate shifting

This is a great way to convert your bike to a compact drivetrain, plus save some weight and improve shifting. Everything is new – never ridden.

Congratulations to all 200+ riders who came out to conquer the mountain! Weather was great, if a little breezy, but the mountain took its toll on all comers! Well done!

...at last week’s Saturday ride. So don’t be ‘fraid. Join the club.

Well, in my years of racing, I don’t think I’ve had the privilege to ride in such awful weather as today.

It was of course cold- 30’s somewhere. But around an hour before race time, it started to snow and sleet. A lot. But because the roads had been warmed by the sun last week, nothing was sticking. The roads were wet, the sky gray, the air cold. Oh joy. (more)

WINTERGREEN ASCENT FACT SHEET
The Registered riders can pick up their packets and numbers at C-ville Bike and Tri Thursday May 1st and Friday May 2nd until 3 PM.

Registration packets can also be picked up at the Edge Restaurant at Wintergreen Friday the 2nd beginning at 5PM until 9 PM and on race day from 7:30 to 9:30 at The Wintergarden parking lot on Devil’s Knob.

There will also be a carb dinner for riders at the Edge Restaurant Friday the 2nd from 6 to 9pm.
