MTN Clinic
Submitted by Rodland.Kyle on Thu, 06/26/2008 - 23:42.i’ll be leading a skills clinic on hopping, rolling, and just plain getting over logs. we will explore some techniques for getting over logs at speed. If you are already proficient at clearing logs come on out and share your ideas with others. Otherwise, come out and learn/practice some J-hops, Bunny hops, or James’ personal favorite the “Tap-Tap”. Most of the logs will be anywhere from 3” to 12” in diameter. You only have to ride what you feel comfortable.
This one is for the more adventurous intermediate rider (MORE)—>

GFTL race report
Submitted by markking on Wed, 06/25/2008 - 09:24.Jake and I went to Richmond last Saturday to do the GFTL . Good Jr turn out – jake got 6th racing w the 18 and unders . That bean pole needs a hill or two until some muscles and whisker start to kick in .
In the masters race I was in a break w two other fellas for the last half of the race . At times I thought it would stick , then with two to go the hard charging field caught us . I grabbed a wheel at the front and managed 2nd place in the field sprint .

State Senior TT Race Report
Submitted by Fletcher.Eric on Sun, 06/22/2008 - 16:57.Today was the State Senior Time Trial, Rather hot but not nearly as bad as two weeks ago. Course had a headwind out, slight rise out, making for fast return trips.
I went into this a little overcooked from the race last Sunday and a hard week of riding, so I felt good, but not great by any means. I tried to go hard from the start, but for the first third I caught my watts dropping in a few spots costing me some time, which was annoying.
On the outbound trip I caught three riders, nobody caught me. On the return trip I got about 4 more, and again no one caught me.
get Urban
Submitted by Rodland.Kyle on Tue, 06/17/2008 - 13:40.i didn;t even know about the Xtera Urban Assault race in Richmond this past weekend, until two days before. it sounded like fun so i pre reged ($40, WTF!). all outrageous entry fees aside, i rode down with some friends, met up with the Tevendale crew, and finally found the reg table. a super long walking bridge over the James brought us to the correct island, which was a blast to cross (in a dorky way). Langley Speedway Race Report: What Would Stijn Do? (long)
Submitted by Fletcher.Eric on Mon, 06/16/2008 - 12:38.He would attack!
As the alarm went off at 4AM on Sunday, my first trickle of concern started over the track race I was facing. My first one ever, combined with my first fixie ride ever. Driving down, I hit rain outside of Richmond- great my first fixie ride ever— in the rain.

Get your crit on, plus laugh at me racing a track bike!
Submitted by Fletcher.Eric on Wed, 06/11/2008 - 10:59.About the safest possible crit is being held this weekend in Hampton.
http://www.bikereg.com/events/register.asp?eventid=6461
A crit race on a stock car oval, there are wide gentle turns and tons of room for everyone. The track is bigger then Richmond’s too.
As a bonus, I will be doing my first track race (and likely my first fixie ride ever, so mad props to John Neil for setting me on the path of track racin’) before the crits start. Come laugh at me when I forget to keep pedaling!
Only downside is a bit of a drive, but the Fat Frogs put on a good race.
